Lightweight Portfolio CMS

Overview

For stüdyo.studio, we designed and built a portfolio website around a custom visual identity, motion-led landing experience, and a pragmatic content workflow. The core MVP is a lightweight CMS powered by Vercel Blob rather than a conventional database or third-party platform. Through a protected admin portal, the studio can manage project case studies, draft and publish work, upload image and video media, reorder galleries, preview unpublished pages, export content packs, and update homepage and About page content. The result is a fast, expressive public site with just enough editorial control for a growing creative practice, without introducing unnecessary operational weight.

• •Gave the studio independent control over its project archive, homepage media rotation, and About page content without relying on a traditional CMS.
• •Reduced ongoing maintenance by using Vercel Blob as a simple content and media store backed by Next.js route handlers.
• •Created a draft-first publishing workflow so new work can be prepared, previewed, exported, and published safely.
• •Improved public discoverability with CMS-aware project pages, metadata, sitemap generation, structured data, and an LLM-readable site summary.

• •Protected admin portal with password-based sessions, project listing, editing, duplication, reordering, publishing, unpublishing, preview links, and confirmed deletion.
• •Blob-backed content model using project manifests, structured JSON metadata, markdown copy, gallery media, technical drawings, and site-wide content JSON.
• •Direct browser media uploads for images and videos, including HEIC/HEIF conversion before upload and short-lived authenticated upload tokens.
• •Homepage editor for managing wallpaper media, timing, shuffle behaviour, per-item metadata, and brand colour settings.
• •About page editor for intro copy, service sections, section imagery or video, and alt text.
• •Public Work and project pages rendered from published Blob content with SEO metadata, canonical URLs, sitemap entries, and resilient default fallbacks.
